MEPS Cash is an e-Purse application and is a convenient method for routine daily purchases. It is one of the multiple applications contained in Bankcard; allowing Bankcard cardholders to load electronic monetary value into the chip.
Cash transactions will not only be safer, but more convenient for both consumers and merchants or retail business owners. The money is stored and handled electronically, thus providing merchants and consumers an audit trail for their transactions. Furthermore, the transaction is operated easily and quickly as it operates off-line which allows for speedier transactions. There is no need for any signature authorisation or Personal Identification Number. MEPS Cash eliminates the inconvenience of carrying large volumes of cash.
