BANK PERTANIAN JOINS MEPS SHARED ATM NETWORK

Kuala Lumpur, August 03, 2005 - Malaysian Electronic Payment System (1997) Sdn Bhd (MEPS) today announced that Bank Pertanian Malaysia (Bank Pertanian) has joined its shared ATM network.
MEPS manages and operates the shared ATM network for the local commercial banks since its inception in 1997. Bank Pertanian is the 14th member bank to join the network and this will allow its customers to access over 4,500 ATM locations nationwide. Likewise, other Bankcard holders will be able to transact at over 140 Bank Pertanian ATMs nationwide.
"We welcome Bank Pertanian as a member of our Shared ATM Network," said Dato' Mohd Hata Robani, Managing Director of MEPS. "MEPS is pleased to be able to provide greater convenience to Bank Pertanian customers in making ATM transactions."
In a related development, MEPS have successfully established an ATM regional link to facilitate cross border ATM cash withdrawals in Malaysia and Indonesia with PT Artajasa Elektronis. The second phase of this initiative will be to enhance the service to include cross-border transfer of funds through the ATM.
Malaysian Electronic Payment System (1997) Sdn. Bhd (MEPS) is a corporation wholly owned by the local financial institutions and provides shared banking service for ATM network, inter-bank GIRO, Foreign Process Exchange (FPX), e-commerce gateway and electronic cash payments such as MEPS CASH and e-Debit.
