MEPS received the ‘Highly Commended’ Award for its renowned ‘MEPS Instant Transfer’ – an e-payment service that facilitates real-time transfer of funds securely from a deposit account in one bank to a deposit account in another bank.
The CEPI Asia Awards are the premier regional awards which reflect the latest trends in the cards and payments arenas, and highlight noteworthy initiatives that have established a strong foothold in the Asia-Pacific region. Organised by Timetric, the CEPI Asia Awards recognize market-leading offerings in cards, mobile and e-payments, remittances, merchant acquiring, and marketing campaigns in each of the Asia-Pacific region’s key markets.
The award was conferred to En Zulkanain Kassim, Group Managing Director of MEPS, who has contributed to the development of Malaysia’s retail payments sector. Under his leadership, MEPS has been successful in implementing several market-firsts, significantly improving and modernizing Malaysia’s payments infrastructure, providing more payment capabilities and services for its market while driving the MEPS group to profitability and recognition, with MEPS being accorded as part of the Top 10 Favourite Superbrands in Malaysia during his term. His profile extends outside of Malaysia being a sought-after speaker and advocator of e-Payment innovation and reforms.
MEPS was awarded the ISO/IEC 27001 for ISMS in 2006. This certification underscores its commitment in providing first-class services to its member banks and their customers, using the industry’s most stringent standards for data security and management; ensuring information are securely protected against any potential security risks, concerns and vulnerabilities.
As an ISO/IEC 27001 certified organisation, MEPS undergoes a series of annual internal audits, in addition to an annual third party surveillance audit to ensure conformance to ISO/IEC 27001 requirements.
As an ISO 9001: 2008 certified organisation, MEPS has successfully implemented a quality management system to enhance customer satisfaction specifically in the provision of switching operations of Shared ATM Network (SAN) services.
MEPS was certified with this standard in December 2011 by SIRIM QAS International, the leading certification body in Malaysia.
During the Recertification Audit in October 2014, the scope of certification was extended to “The provision and operations of Shared ATM Network (SAN) and MEPS ATM services” which includes MEPS ATM Services.
MEPS was certified to MS 1900:2005 in 2011 by SIRIM QAS International, the leading certification body in Malaysia. MEPS was further certified to the new MS 1900:2014 standard in November 2015.
MEPS enhances its effectiveness and efficiency to continue providing innovative services to its customers with the infusion of Shariah values into the organization. This is in support of the Government’s efforts to boost Malaysia forward as a global hub for Islamic financial services.
MEPS was voted by SMEs as the most preferred brand in the Interbank Payment Services and was awarded the BrandLaureate Master Awards 2010 for the said category.
MEPS has been inducted into The Malaysia Book of Records as the First IT Company to obtain MS 1900: 2005 Quality Management Systems – Requirements from Islamic Perspectives.
MEPS was identified as one of 2013′s TOP TEN FAVOURITE BRANDS by Superbrands Malaysia. An independent consumer survey recognised the MEPS brand as it represents Quality, Reliability and Distinction. Participation in the Superbrands programme is strictly by invitation only.
