Kuala Lumpur, May 25, 2009 – Malaysian Electronic Payment System (1997) Sdn Bhd (MEPS), Malaysia’s premier payment network switch provider, today announced the appointment of Mohd Suhail Amar Suresh Abdullah as its new Group Managing Director. He succeeds Dato’ Mohd Hata Robani, who will retire from MEPS in June 2009.

He has a proven track record of success, demonstrated a strong commitment to the organization and most importantly, has the skills and desire to advance our organisation into a premier e-ACH (Automated Clearing House). Mohd Suhail Suresh joined MEPS in September 2002 as its General Manager and was promoted to Deputy Group Managing Director in June 2008.  Prior to joining MEPS, Mohd Suhail held senior positions in various multi-national corporations with involvement in project consulting, business development and systems integration within the Asia Pacific region. His career also includes a 16 year period in the Information Services Division of a commercial bank.

Dato’ Mohd Hata Robani retires from MEPS after nine years of service and from a career spanning more than 30 years in banking, primarily in Bank Negara Malaysia.

“Dato’ Hata has taken MEPS from strength to strength and was instrumental in paving the road for MEPS regional expansion,” said Mr Barrett. “I join the members of the Board, management and staff in thanking him for his outstanding service, commitment and leadership.”
