MEPS ATMKUALA LUMPUR, 20 December 2013: Malaysian Electronic Payment System (“MEPS”) has today successfully deployed 200 MEPS ATMs – accomplishing its target for 2013. The 200th unit was installed at Petronas station along Persiaran Zaaba, Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

Malaysia’s first non-bank ATM, deployed earlier this year, was officially launched by Dato’ Muhammad Ibrahim, Deputy Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia on 21 October 2013. Since then, its demand and transaction volume has been on the rise.

“We set a commitment at the beginning to provide customers with the best MEPS ATM experience and today, we are delighted to announce that we have fulfilled that commitment,” said En Zulkanain Kassim, MEPS Group Managing Director.

“This new breed of ATMs offers more than cash withdrawals and balance inquiry – it provides real-time interbank funds transfer, credit card and loan / finance repayment, which are in-line with the Government’s Economic Transformation Programme and support towards Bank Negara Malaysia’s e–payment agenda.,” added En Zulkanain Kassim.

For 2014, MEPS plans to deploy another 300 ATMs, bringing the total to 500 MEPS ATMs by year-end. It is currently serving the states of Johor, Kedah, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Perak, Perlis, Selangor and Wilayah Persekutuan. For location info and other updates, please visit
