Additionally, this year’s contribution will also be utilized to equip the Paediatric and Congestive Heart Centre, Intensive Care Unit’s (PCHC ICU) milk preparation room with a Milk Pass Through Refrigerator, which will reduce the risk of milk contamination for paediatric patients.

Datin Julini’s feeling gratified receiving the cheque, said “The foundation relies heavily on the generous support of kind donors. It is our fervent hope that other corporate organizations follow MEPS’s noble initiative to collaborate with us.” Datin Julini explained further that ‘In year 2014, the IJN Foundation disbursed a total amount of RM3.8 million under its Patient Assistance Programme. With the amount the foundation was able to cover the costs of 125 patients’ surgeries – 64 of whom were adult patients and 61 children.”

Following the cheque presentation, En Zulkanain Kassim made his rounds to about 50 warded paediatric patients of IJN to distribute Duit Raya. The faces of little ones, who are unable to relish in the current joyous Aidilfitri festivities, gleamed in delightful joy as they received Duit Raya from MEPS.

“We must take time during this month of Syawal to remember those who are less fortunate,” added En Zulkanain Kassim. “We should walk with them, side-by-side through life; for the able must help those who are not.”

Wrapping up the hearty event was an elegant high tea served at the newly refurbished Wellness Centre.
